Natural Reader which is from Natural soft has three versions. 1. free for personal use, 2 personal and three the pro. Free has less of course then the other two versions. This programme works in outlook, adobe pdf (though should work in others), and microsoft word along with IE. It will also convert to mp files this is good for when you want to take it on the road as it were to listen to your emails later.

I do not have this programme myself though others may have some experience using this programme and could give some insights. For me it the free version would not work for my own needs. Maybe the paid version.

However from my understanding so far is that the free version appears to only use Microsoft Mary. So that would mean more of a robotic sound effect which will not be great for me. This may or may not be the best. You could try out Narrorator for the sound of sam and see if you would like such a robotic sound though it's not Mary but is basically the same idea.

Narrator isn't good at all in my opinion but it's there for a pinch.

Getting back to Natural Reader. After type highlight text then click on the play button which seems to be on the left side. Appearently the buttons (floating toolbar) shows up on the various programmes in which it will work in.
